It can be difficult to adapt a British show for a different audience, but the American adaptation of The Office (https://screenrant.com/office-us-successful-uk-original-comedy-reason/), created by Greg Daniels, sticks the landing. For nine seasons, viewers were entertained by the escapades of employees at the Scranton branch of the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company, led by bumbling yet well-meaning boss Michael Scott (Steve Carell). Sarcastic paper salesman Jim Halpert (John Krasinski), sweet and artistic receptionist Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer), and overbearing assistant to the regional manager Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson) are just some of the characters who make up The Office's eclectic ensemble.
Though The Office got off to somewhat of a rocky start with its first season, the show soon hit its stride and became one of the best modern sitcoms. The mockumentary format adds a fun element to the show, and the characters' talking heads make for great and hilarious asides. The ensemble of The Office is fantastic, with every character being entertaining in their own way. Though the quality of The Office in its later seasons is debatable, the entire show is still filled with delightful and sometimes even heartwarming moments. It's a classic show that can easily be enjoyed in the background.
