Oh yes, Elysium Fields in Topanga opened in the 1960's and it was closed in 2001. Going there a few times for socializing and dinners and hot tubs was one of the most liberating experiences in my life. The Fields were about 8 miles or so from my residence.

Some how I can't visualize anyone here attending one. I'd be surprised if I'm wrong.

Went to a warm and sunny clothes optional beach too.

I feel that way too. I really don't want to see anyone completly naked unless it's one on one , in an intimate situation . But a whole group of naked people would just seem weird to me :eek: and I'm not a prude at all, it's just I find to be a little covered up is more comfortable !

That remind of a joke going around about nudist colony that when in nudist colony they sit on the bench, it sound like they're clapping :D

In grade school and high school gym classes we always had mass showers, so it was no big deal that the guys' "wang-a-lang-a-ding-dongs" were on display. Also in college when I had to take swimming & phys ed.

The swimming classes had both men & women together, although that was nearly 40 years ago and my memory has faded. The thing I remember most is that we were lined up to jump off the diving board, and the girl behind me briefly ran her hand along my butt...!!! :) So like in that case it's always good to have some water to go into, or the "are you just glad to see me" involuntary response could make for some awkward "rising" moments...!

I don't think I could do it. Dinnertime makes me nervous. There are certain times I don't want to be naked, and when hot greasy splattering foods are around is one of those times.

I think I went to 2 beaches and So Cal is or was known for their famous nude beaches. My bf at the time was a very dear good SOH guy born and raised in Midwest with all the hangups of being uptight and closed to new adventures. I was able to get him fo that beach near Santa Barbara and he loved loved loved it, and nothing happened that he feared might,,,,

I also worked on him to quit smoking as he did when I met him, almost did not give him my phone number. One thing led to another and he made changes to kick the habit.... He had so many good traits it was worth hanging with him. He wanted marriage eventually, I did not, he went back to MW and found a gal to marry, last I heard they smoked together.

I saw a nudist magazine in a 2nd hand shop in the 1970's and thought they all looked so happy and friendly. Fast forward to 2001 and I get a chance to go to a nude beach in Florida. It was nice and I would go again

Like the majority here, I'll say no, I wouldn't. But to be fair, that lifestyle would really help cut down on the wardrobe budget.

On making a big deal of the food issue, for starters all of these Nudist places have the Clothing optional with it all. Keep your clothing on, be the one that stands out.

For eating in, again -- optional.

For eating at beach -- optional. And people usually have a sandwich or something simple at the beach for eating. Not a big cooked meal.....

With this subject as with some others -- very few "facts" and closed minds.

One would think, being nude is like being a killer.
