I went to the link and what are we supposed to be seeing? Something way different than the forum? I got nothing.

It's a social media app like Twitter. I think you need the app to post on it. It doesn't work for posting on the web/PC yet.

TJ, I kinda figured that one. I'm so dizzy with constant links for you name it.... My friend said she finally went to a movie house for a first run movie, I don't know what to call a movie anymore, you can find them on so many venues.. Going to a movie was a Big Thing in my life, and true it's changed so much for me since my horrid surgery, but more so in the last few years. She said there were 5 people in that Big Movie House....

Threads has such an ugly icon compared to the other social media apps, like those really ugly QR codes we can't get rid of now. :crazy:

I just downloaded and installed the app. I don't fully understand the whole QR code thing. It would be much easier and more convenient if they allowed you to post from the desktop.

I thought more people would be using Threads. We gain a follower or two on some days, but then we will lose three a few days later.

These social media sites have high turnover rates. We used to have over 100,000 followers on Facebook. Now we only have 87,000 followers and 91,000 likes. There are probably thousands of bots on some of these sites.

I don't know how many people find us that way. I guess any traffic we get from them is good.

Threads seems to be a flash in the pan. I haven't heard anything about it outside of here after the first few weeks of initial launch. Not meant to be a long term success like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Tik Tok.

I have no idea how it happened, but somehow our Instagram account was hacked at the end of the April. Someone from Tijuana, Mexico attempted to buy a steam iron. I didn't even know you could buy anything on there.

We were able to change the password. It worked for a few days after that. Then they locked our access. We tried to verify the account with a selfie video, but they denied it almost immediately. They don't make it very easy to even contact them. If/when we can get access back, I will start posting the links again.

According to Sensor Tower data, X (Twitter) had around 349 million monthly active users vs. 85 million for Threads app in Q1 2024.


In the US alone, X (Twitter) had 27 million daily active users vs 1.6 million daily active users for Threads (as of February 2024).

Are Threads posts still embedable? I’m not seeing an embed option over there anymore. If you can do it, do one here and tell me how it’s done.

Yes Opus this is how you embed something from there on this site..

Enter [THREADS] the ID of the page (The last part of it which is just letters/numbers) and then enter [/THREADS]

So you would enter [threads]Cy_0O_TpjSY[/threads]

and it would display

That goes with what I was saying about 23 years ago. You’d think there’d be a statute of limitations on such violations.

Number for SO currently says 158 followers. Trending up from last time we talked about the number in here.

Our Instagram/Threads account is still locked since it was hacked in April 2024. I don't know if it's possible to reach a human there. Everything is automated these days. We've tried to verify the account.
