This is in honor of the film Goodfellas and the most famous line….”Go home and get your “bleeping” Shinebox!”

I have always thought that this was a non obscene way to tell someone off. Instead of saying “F-you” or “F-off”, we can just say “You can go home and get your shinebox!” and walk away.

I am a fan of The Sopranos and have watched a lot of video clips on YouTube and a lot of them reference “the shinebox”, especially when it comes to the actor Frank Vincent who played Batts in Goodfellas who uttered the famous lines. Just go to YouTube and watch a Sopranos video and it can be found. I have even made comments that “Shinebox really had a nice car” (the red Cadillac on the show). For good or for ill, Vincent will always be associated with that role.

Also, shineboxes can be referenced sometimes in comments to other mostly latter day mafia movies. I would have loved for the late Frank Vincent to actually sign a shinebox.

I just find the term ironically hilarious. It has been over thirty years since the film came out but regrettably is not part of the lexicon.
