The show was criticized by many TV critics for being immoral since Jack and Vicky's lived together without being married. One example was from TV critic Tom Jicha from the Miami News

That guy sounds like a old dinosaur. More than likely that kind of thinking didn't help the show advance to a second season. TV Guide reviewer Cyra McFadden in the May 11th issue gave Three's A Crowd a positive review. So did the NY Times. I've never seen this review, thanks for posting it! I would have loved a second season of Three's A Crowd, we were so close.

I don't remember her name. It was from 1985 like the above TV Guide review by McFadden. The NYT site probably has it. They have the September 1984 John O'Connor sort of review of Three's A Crowd that he did before the show aired. He thought John should have moved on away from Jack Tripper. Well, he did a few years later but didn't have the same success as Three's Company with TV shows. Three's Company was a hard act to follow. He thought John should have been more of a Cary Grant type which I didn't get. To me Grant did straight man comedy and reacts to others. John to me did physical comedy. I have some independent TV guide reviews of Three's A Crowd, perhaps I can post some if I have a chance.

What would be the tops for me is if somebody downloaded the John Ritter/Mary Cadorette promotional interview appearance they did for the tv show Hour Magazine. Hosted by Gary Collins. I've been waiting years to see that.
