There are some sitcoms that are well respected that some of don't like or just can't watch for some reason.

Name the ones that apply in your case, and if you have a reason.

For me:

All in the Family - I've tried and tried and I can't get into it.

The Honeymooners - It just doesn't do it for me.

Mary Tyler Moore - Just have no desire to watch it, though I have found it pretty funny.

Dick Van Dyke Show - Don't care to watch it.

Andy Griffin- i just dont like this show.I cant sit down and watch it, i never really did.Don Knotts did play a great part in it from what i have seen, but its not enough to keep me entertained.

Will & Grace- I dont find any of the characters funny. they are annoying and i dunno but i think its just the dumpest show. my friends like it and they talk about how great it is and i have to just sit and argue with them. i tried to watch it last week and i couldnt sit thru 10 minutes of it.

Everybody Love Raymond- Like Will & Grace, the characters are annoying and predictable. I watched it and watched it and i only laughed once and was confused so many times to figure out how this show is funny.

Seinfeld- Many people consider this show the best show ever but from the 30 seconds that i have seen i cant even believe its a show. i have never seen or heard anything funny out of the mouths of this show and i probably never will. Stupidest show ever on TV

I can't watch Andy Griffith either.

I don't know if it has a reputation as a very good sitcom, or just a popular one.

Either way, I don't like it.

I agree. I know it was one of the biggest hit tv shows ever. But I just can't get into it either. I find it rather boring. I still don't know how it got to the number 1 show 5 years in a row.

Andy Griffith- I just can't sit through an entire episode.

Scrubs- It's critically acclaimed, but it bores me.

I can't watch "Scrubs," "Frasier," and sometimes, "Everybody Loves Raymond." :o

The NBC dramas bore me to death!

I could never get into two huge classics--I Love Lucy or Mash. I can understand why they were so successful, but they just weren't for me.

"Friends" - I totally don't see what's so good about it. Seems generic (please, no one jump on me for saying that about it. I just don't like it)

"M*A*S*H" - I'll watch an episode from time to time, but I don't like it that much.

"The Andy Griffith Show" - This one bores me. I'll watch a few of the B&W episodes, but I can not stand the color ones.

This comes as no surprise that I hate this show too. Granny's voice just gets on my nerves. You know how they do the split credit thing on tvland right, so they show it while Beaver is going off. I have to rush to get to the remote so I won't have to hear Granny yelling "JJJEEDDDDDDD!"

Off topic, I heard on Extra or one of those other shows that they are going to do a reality series kind of based on BH. I guess they are going to take a hick family and put them in California. The things they put on tv now.

I can't stand The Beverly Hillbillies.
I don't consider it regarded as a respected sitcom.

I mean to each his own, but that is not a highly regarded show.

Gilligan's Island- I used to love this show so much when I was younger. I would fake sick just so I could stay home from school in order to watch it. I see the show now and it just gets on my nerves. Believe me, I'm surprised nobody on the island tried to kill Gilligan and make it look like an accident.

My dad told me today that someone wants to do this with Green Acres too. :p

Ugh.

Mama's family?

I said shows with very good reputations.

Mama's family is not a well respected show.

No offense, we all have our favorites and our personal
guilty pleasures.

Older classic shows like those on TVLand I used to watch when I was yonger, but now, they kind of bore me. I guess having seen every episode of "Gilligan's Island" about one hundred times since I could walk would turn anybody off...

Of the current shows, "Everybody Loves Raymond" comes to mind. It is a funny show, but I just can't bring myself to watch it week after week.
Ditto with "Sex In The City." I just can't watch it...

Roseanne- A Mother Who always yells at her kids, and a laugh that is outrageously annyoing, does not intrest me.

I agree with a lot fo the posts here.

Here's my list. The critics love these, and I just don't know why. Some of these are the sacred cows of TV but since we're on the subject:

1. All In The Family: Slow moving, cheaply produced, can't relate to the characters at all.

2. I Love Lucy: I know she was an innovator, the show seems too simplistic, and a lot of the plots are the same (Lucy wants to be in Ricky's act, she wants to be on TV, she hides something from Ricky, etc, etc)

3. Honeymooners: It's okay, but I just don't find it funny.

Here are the shows with good reputations I have never cared to watch:

The Beverly Hillbillies (have tried to sit through an episode or two)

Cheers (Sorry, but I never found it funny! :sleep2: )

The Cosby Show. (was OK to watch growing up, nowadays I find it boring)

Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman (see LHOTP below)

Family Ties (left a bad taste in my mouth after it replaced The Brady Bunch on N@N :livid: )

Little House on the Prairie (while I am a fan of shows that take place in an era before recording (like The Wonder Years and The Waltons), I never could relate to LHOTP, probably because I am not that familiar with the days before automobiles, at least history-wise)

The Mary Tyler Moore Show (tried sitting through a couple episodes, but just never could get into it)

Touched by an Angel (tried sitting through a couple of episodes; one back on 5/10/98 that featured Dan Lauria and Alley Mills of TWY fame is one I'll remember)

The Weakest Link (have seen a few episodes; the one last September 24 featuring my favorite Bunch (and Cousin Oliver!)was a must-see)

That's all I can think of at the moment.

Without a question, my least favorite show that I can't stand to watch is Friends. I think it probably has to do with how many times I've seen that cast whining about how much they get paid--and always wanting more money. It may be one of NBC's biggest hits. I can't stand it at all.
I also never liked Seinfeld.

It's not a sitcom, but I refuse to watch The Sopranos. I am so sick of the negative stereotype that Italians are all either Mafia members, crooks, sleazes, or just plain brainless and stupid. If The Sopranos was about black drug dealers or Latino gang members, I don't think it would have lasted a month.
