Who ever dreamed of becoming the next Leonardo DaVinci or Vincent Van Gogh when you were a child? In 1997 we were introduced to a very popular drawing toy that would become all the rage for years to come. That drawing toy is known as the Marvin's Magic Drawing Board and I bet when the commercials debuted you probably asked Santa for one of these for Christmas growing up. Marvin's Magic Drawing Boards were interesting drawing toys because as you watch the commercials you can see these were not traditional drawing toys because unlike art toys that have paint or markers that can cause messy splatters on clothing or anything Marvin's Magic Drawing Boards promised no mess and with the enclosed drawing tools you could make fantastic pictures or even learn to write your name "gee I wonder how I could spell "HAWKEE" with this drawing board?" I guess it would be cool wouldn't it? And when you wanted to draw something new you just erased with the eraser tool and the board was wiped clean as can be without the mess and was very simple for kids to use and very useful as a travel toy on trips. Marvin is not a real person but these drawing toys paved the way for art toys to be sold through informercials on TV and started a craze of art toys to be hot sellers for Christmas such as the Rainbow Art Digi-Draw and many other art toys
