There are kids who have disabilities and have to wear diapers. The article acknowledges that. However <<>> teachers are seeing older kids going to school who werent toilet trained.

From the article:

"Children as old as 11 are going to schools wearing diapers, ringing alarm bells among teachers.

Dagmar Rösler, head of the Swiss Federation of Teachers, expressed her worry about this growing problem, stating, "When 11-year-olds come to school in diapers, that's a worrying trend." (More)

This is really jarring Just how long do they think they can keep wearing diapers?

Maybe they like it??

Strange...
Even I who have a disability (I'm autistic) was potty-trained at 5 years old.

I have a friend whose three-year-old is severely autistic, and of course he is not trained, at least as yet. I'm sure they hope by around 5 that he is. They also have a 10-year-old non-autistic child who is trained.

I guess I've never heard of non-autistic pre-teens who still wear diapers. In the Buffalo case they have not ruled out that some of these kids are autistic. But for those who are not, I'd wonder about parents who voluntarily continue to deal with diapers and accidents. What's next, adults who report to work in diapers?

It is really strange that kids who aren't disabled aren't trained when they reach school age.
But it seems like teachers are putting a stop to it now before it becomes even worse.
