A Honeymooners June 18th:
(Ralph & Ed are walking to their apartment building.)
Ralph: “Take a look at all the black people Norton having fun. They look like they are rich.”
Ed: “Today is June 18th. They celebrated their freedom.”
Ralph: “Yes and they didn’t do it by having a pool party in the sewer like you did when you celebrated the Yankees winning.”
Ed: “In the sewer, I’m at home Ralph.”
Ralph: “I’m sure that you are. Boy take a look at that black guy with a suit on. I’m hearing him talk. He sounds more intelligent than you & I put together.”
Ed: “If only Martin Luther King was alive to see June 18th the holiday.”
(They both sing a song about what it would be like if Martin Luther King Jr. Was alive to see the June 18th holiday. Everyone on the street is dancing which includes the June Taylor Dancers.)
(Jackie walks on stage. Crowd cheers.)
Jackie: “Thank you. Ladies and gentlemen, I would love to wish everyone here a June Eighteenth. The Miami Beach version of this holiday is the BEST! GOOD NIGHT!”
(Crowd cheers.)
