I came back to America to see my parents, my father and “stepmother”. My father is nearly 91 years old and home bound so he watches a lot of TV. For now they subscribe to ATT Direct TV. Personally for me, I dislike it very much and would never pay for it. Just some reasons why….
The thing is drowning in mostly worthless channels of content I would never watch. I do not know what is on, not really. I have to go online to find a TV guide to know what is on. There is usually something good on, but you have to dig unless you know the channels or where to look.
It is a satellite dish, and the video constantly freezes. I personally think that the dish is on a bad side of the house with tall trees right there. Of course, if you tell them (watching a show now and it just froze).
Not that I mind but the comedy channels show hours of the same show. I watch Everybody Loves Raymond every weekday night. There is also blocks of Seinfeld and have seen Andy Griffith Show. (Video freezes again). Nothing wrong with that if you are a fan of these shows. Sort of good if there is nothing on the other 500 channels, Raymond is always there. (Video froze again).
I will say one good feature about this piece of crap is that one can record and keep a show. Ok. A time before I came and wanted to see a documentary but wasn’t going to be home and it worked fine.
But this thing is awful. I just use the internet, I like mostly YouTube and I do have access to watch current or recent sitcoms and shows. No commercials. I don’t understand why everyone doesn’t do what I do.
