"Sweet". Not like, ohh!! The cake is too sweet, but when you say sweet as in "cool." Ahh!! Ive always hated that saying! lol. Also, the word "sweat" is gross. And, OMG, the term "make love" makes my ears bleed!! Just say sex! Or vo-deo-do-do or SOMETHING!! lol, but please- not "make love". They say that word like 74374284298 times in a one hour soap opera!! AHH!!. But def. "make-love" makes my #1! Ick!

"Cutey Patootey" oh I hate that one.

This one is more like a phrase: "The Man in your life"
and "The Man I'm Married To" Especially when said in a
sickeningly sweet way.

I'd go on but that's just a whole new topic.

Grievance: as in, "I have a grievance (bone to pick) with you." Gives me the hives.

Whatever: it's a dismissive, snotty way of saying, "I'm right, you're wrong, but you're too lame to bother with."

Some slang or mispronounced words cause me to have to bite my tounge, such as 'warsh' instead of 'wash'. I don't see how a person could go through life without learning how to say 'wash' correctly. Who could take a mother seriously if she says, "I'm gonna warsh your mouth out with soap!" ?

Conniption: as in, "Don't have a 'conniption' fit!" *Huff, huff* A bit overly dramatic for my money. It might be better if they'd go with the old slang term, "Don't have a cow." The humor of the word 'cow' takes the bite out of it

And lastly, I'd not had any particular grievance with anyone using the word 'annoying' until recently but now days I feel a need to warsh anyones mouth out with soap who says it. Whatever, I guess that's my problem. I'll try not to have a conniption fit over it. :D

Oh wow, I agree with you on that 100%. I also can't stand it when people say "chill," as in relax.
It bugs be when people say "24/7" to mean 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I think it just bugs me because I a lot of snobby people I knew used to say it all the time.

I hate that phrase too! lol- we should petition to make people start saying "vodeo do do"...

--fantastic- i had a friend who used this to describe everything and it drives me insane now...

--i hate when people call the restroom the "john", it reminds me of some overweight pool player in a bar...i dunno.

--im not fond of the term drug store, it sounds so much nicer to use "pharmacy" or "apothocary"

--ive never liked the way "woman" sounds, but its kind of hard to avoid- ive tried using lady or femme but that doesnt always work.

--i also hate the phrase "chill, girl", my one friend uses it all the time towards me and it just sounds so domineering, which of course causes me to not-"chill, girl"

This really is more of a term than a word but I absolutely hate it when people refer to their boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife as their "old lady" or their "old man." That sounds so stupid! I know it's just an expression but half the time the person that they're refering to is actually younger than them.

PS- Same goes for sweet! Sweet is like sugar, not like cool! lol
Oh, and I hate the word SPED. I know it means SPECIAL ED, but I think the word SPED sounds demeaning or something, IMO.
I agree W&GFanatic- I hate the "N" word. Rappers are always saying that they want respect for "their people" etc., yet all they do is insult them! I personally am appalled evn though Im white. Its OK for a rapper to say "N" every 2 seconds, but someone else says it & all of a sudden hell breaks lose!

"Whatever" by itself or in a sentence

I hate this word so much. I had to do this Civics project with one girl and she used that word so much. I would write out a paper and ask "Is this any good?" I'm a bad judge of my work. I would probably think everything I write sucked, so I feel better asking others opinion. What do you think this girl said back to me after I asked if it was any good. "You can use whatever you want." That didn't tell me anything. I guess I should've asked one of my cats to tell me if they liked the paper. At least 'Meow' is a better reply than the answer I got from the girl.

Ever since I did that project, I just want to pull my hair out whenever someone says that word to me.

What really bugs me is not any word in particular, its when people mispronounce words that are so obvious. (I once had a teacher who pronounced parmesan, par-mee-zee-an.)
Also when people use words in the wrong context, like when people try to sound smart by using big words and then don't use them correctly. You'll sound smarter if you use simpler words and make sense!!
