Every time when I research commercials on Youtube I see a lot of commercials for Michael's sales and I wonder how they still survive? Because it used to be that Michael's was the number craft store chain before Hobby Lobby and they were seen in every shopping center and mall in any town. Mom and I loved Michael's because they had neat things and my mom would buy crafts and holiday decor there and they also had neat stuff like stuffed animals and kids books. But now I think Michael's is trying to become the king of craft stores because they seem to have sales for almost every holiday with commercials that say "Make Dad a gift he will never forget with Michael's or during Christmas Michael's will announce sales with "Help Santa give holiday cheer with Michael's gifts. And when I see this I think Michael's is gaining a new audience and image to a new generation of crafters

I never thought about this but I shopped Michaels for many years and I see the store I shopped at does not appear. Many businesses in our town closed during the virus. Now there are many stores in LA area that are open.

Reason: Could be more and more on tight finances are makiing a lot of their own stuff. I bought a lot of art supplies when I was painting back in 2003, don't paint anymore.

Last year, I took the wife several times and the parking lot was moderately full every time.

I still have their sturdy tote bag that was a couple bucks. A very handy bag indeed!

That's a good point about more and more people making their own stuff due to prices going up.

I think what Michael's is trying to do is become the number one arts and crafts store and what I think that are trying to attract a new generation of people who do arts and crafts and they are coming out with neat holiday crafts and from their commercials Michael's is making a big name for themselves by becoming the biggest craft store chain in the world. Before Michael's became number one in arts and crafts stores you had JoAnn Fabrics And Crafts and Minnesota Fabrics and Hobby Lobby but ever since it's been popular you see Michael's be promoted more than any other craft store in the world. I remember when my mom and I would shop we would go to Michael's to look at their amazing holiday crafts and we would buy amazing Christmas items there. My aunt also loved Michael's because she LOVED making crafts and she was great at making crafts too
