The bizarre thing about the kids' bathroom was that whenever one of the kids used the bathroom they would have had to make sure all three doors were locked for privacy. Then before they left, they would have to remember to unlock the other door for the other sex to access the bathroom, as well as unlocking the third door that led to the hallway. Imagine if it were reality, how many times you would have forgotten to unlock the other doors?

Maybe you forget a few times at the beginning, but I'd say locking and unlocking both doors would pretty quickly become second nature.

Yes. I believe its in the episode where the kids haunt the house to scare away buyers. Greg says the girls always leave the door locked and then Marcia responds the boys do it too.

Mike could have solved the problem by boarding up both doors and just let them use the third door from the hallway access.
