I heard that Billy Joel is leaving his Madison Square Garden residency after performing concerts there for 10 years and I was shocked to learn this. Why is Billy Joel doing this? He hasn't released a new album since 1993 and what I think will happen is that he has a plan to retire from music and touring or Billy is moving his concert residency to Las Vegas. I would like to hear some new music from Billy Joel and a new album be released in the future but I don't think it's likely to happen soon. I also think Billy Joel is planning to end his relationship with Columbia Records and move to another record label to save money and that's why Billy Joel is doing this

To me why Billy Joel is doing this is because I think Madison Square Garden offered Billy a bigger contract and he decided not to take it and not only that in one of the People Magazines I read Billy Joel has put up his house in Long Island for sale and I think he will move to Las Vegas and have a new residency there. Because as I mentioned in my opening post I have not heard any news of a new comeback album because since he released his last album River Of Dreams in 1993 Billy Joel should release a new album full of new songs because it seems that the only "new" albums of Billy Joel are live albums and greatest hits albums. I mean other singers are doing it why don't Billy release a very cool album of cool songs?
