The problem with Jimmie Walker becoming the breakout star of Good Times is that the show was supposed to be ESTHER and JOHN'S Show, and they suddenly got upstaged by their Co-worker, Jimmie. Similar thing happened with Jomarie Payton on Family Matters. Family Matters was created to star Jomarie as her spinoff from Perfect Strangers, and she suddenly got upstaged by Jaleel White, who became FM most popular star who wasn't even supposed to be part of the cast in the first place! He was supposed to be a one time guest star but audience loved him so much they demanded to see him more and he overshadowed Jomarie! :eek: OUCH! :eek: He even lasted longer on the show than she did! She, who was the original star was replaced in the last half of the 9th season after she asked the Producers to go back to the "Family," aspects of Family Matters and stop focusing on Steve's wacky inventions(The time travel one where they ended up on a pirate ship was a huge WTF moment :eek: :confused: and a complete 180 from say Season 1 which was about a normal Family being there for each other) Jomarie definitely got screwed over by Jaleel!
