I found my copy of Taylor Dayne's 1989 album Can't Fight Fate and when I listened to it I was shocked to find that this album had a rock sound and it seemed to me when this album was released Arista Records tried to make Taylor Dayne like Tina Turner. Because if you listen to the song I'll Be Your Shelter the song has Tina Turner like elements in it so it tells me that Taylor tried to copy Tina Turner. Because when she debuted in 1988 with Tell It To My Heart she was marketed as a dance-pop artist and Taylor Dayne made herself a household name competing with Jody Watley Madonna and Paula Abdul but with her second album Taylor aimed for a Tina Turner like image. At least with her 1993 album Taylor Dayne went back to dance music which suited her well
