Felicity Smoak — Arrow (2012–2020)

Felicity Smoak has embarked on quite a complex journey since first appearing in Arrow. But not all of it has been well-received. The character was initially introduced as the brains behind the Arrow operation. But her romance with Oliver Queen, a life-threatening injury, a severe personality shift, and appearance in the far future have all convoluted her story.
Felicity Smoak jumps from one narrative to the next, without the writing in place to make for a natural transition. For example, Smoak was unable to walk and was teased to become the new Oracle. A quick technological upgrade fixed this issue, undermining any genuine growth. As it stands, this certainly isn't a superhero that deserves her own comic (https://www.cbr.com/arrowverse-heroes-who-should-have-their-own-comic/). Whenever Smoak's story gains natural momentum it fizzles out without being capitalized on.
