The year was 1996 and Tina Turner had just released her album Wildest Dreams which made her a top star in the 90's so it wasn't a surprise that Tina would be asked to be spokeswoman and star in commercials for Hanes. In her only Hanes commercial in history Tina talked about how great an honor it was to become a spokeswoman for Hanes while her cover of John Waits Missing You plays in the background. This was one of Hanes's most expensive commercial deals to make and even Entertainment Tonight did an exclusive behind the scenes look at how the commercial was made. I'm surprised that Tina didn't do an exclusive clothing deal with Hanes because Tina Turner was a great selling point for Hanes
