Nah, I think the two women just didn't get along . Seems everyone else in the cast was pretty fond of Bonnie Franklin .

And Alex , he wasn't fired twice . He quit himself to be on another sitcom . I forget what is was called ? It starred Ann Jillian and she was a ghost or something ? The show wasn't a success , didn't last long !

You might be thinking of MacKenzie Phillips, who played her Daughter Julie . She was fired a couple times , but it wasn't Bonnie's doing , Mac was very into drugs and the producers fired her !
