Great news!!!! Maybe they will get more decent prizes in the bons round. What I think they should do in the bonus round is try to guess as many words as they can, but instead of playing for balls, they could play for chances to guess a mystery word of say 8 letters instead of the traditional 5, with the two players alternating letter guesses to the the mystery word. (You would give them like 30 seconds to get the word giving them the first letter.) If they won they get the bonus prizes.

I don't like just picking balls in the bonus round because that's just chance....there's no skill involved by just picking balls. My idea above would give the players something to work for at the end, and would be more "in tune" with the strategy of the main part of the game. To just pick balls to win prizes is the equivlant of going to a carnival or state fair...that part is just chance. Completing as many puzzles in 2:00 is very good, but then give them a large mystery word to try to solve by alternating letters in a 30 second time limit (i.e a big Lingo board with just one 8 letter word) you either get it or you don't to win the bonus. That would be cool.

My other suggestion would be to give the players say $1000 if they win their games (Regardless of whether or not they get the bonus or not) This is not a show from the 1960's where a player should walk away with only $400 dollars for getting 4 Lingo balls in the bonus round....With Millionare and even cable shows like "Win Ben Stein's Money" $400 is nothing. But I think that if Bonus Lingo involved a mystery word instead of balls to fill up your card, it would be much cooler.
