Especially when the movie (https://www.looper.com/67609/baywatch-box-office-bomb/) bombed (https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/why-baywatch-bombed-at-box-office-1008399/). Now we all know the reason (https://www.quora.com/Why-was-Baywatch-so-popular) that the show (https://www.reddit.com/r/television/comments/kdn3fi/despite_being_a_megahuge_phenomenon_back_in_the/) was popular (https://www.looper.com/217957/the-untold-truth-of-baywatch/#:~:text=Baywatch%20was%20extremely%20popular%2C%20and%20not%20for%20obvious%20reasons&text=With%20the%20world%20population%20around,the%20spread%20of%20satellite%20dishes.);) but it lasted an EXTREMELY long time, to the point where you even had parodies of the show (i.e. Son of the Beach (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Series/SonOfTheBeach)). It probably didn't help that Baywatch (https://www.baltimoresun.com/news/bs-xpm-1995-07-04-1995185079-story.html) was in syndication (https://www.reddit.com/r/explainlikeimfive/comments/116lbcq/eli5_what_is_syndication_and_why_did_tv_shows/), so every station who aired it showed it at different time slots (https://www.reddit.com/r/television/comments/zz8miu/what_was_up_with_baywatch/).
