A question on a post I came across and it reminded me of the question I and many have always asked when it pertains to Jason Weaver. Remembering the not so controversial and usually low key Jason Weaver is one thing, but to remember how good of a singer he was is another. you may know a thing or two about the talent Jason weaver possessed at just 12 13 years old, when he played the role of Michael Jackson in the 1992 miniseries called The Jacksons: An American Dream. That year he also flawlessly was the voice behind Simba of the classic animated feature The Lion King. Jason Weaver’s voice was special. But he was not just a child star or singer/voice in the shadows. He began his acting career even before he got into music at just 10 years old in 1990, and has been all throughout the decade, mostly known for his role in the Jacksons and the hit TV sitcom Smart Guy. He released his debut album in 1995 on Motown records, in a time the child star in hip hop was the “it” thing to be and have success. All of a sudden he discontinued dropping music and here we are.
