November 7, 1944 - April 2, 2023 Garn Stephens, born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away in Los Angeles at the age of 78. She was an accomplished actress and writer. She originated the role of Jan in the original Broadway company of Grease. She played Harriet Hastings in the CBS sitcom Phyllis, Carol in the mini-series Blind Ambition, and Marge Guttman in the movie thriller Halloween III: Season of the Witch. As a writer for television with her writing partner Emilie R. Small, Garn received an Emmy nomination for the episode "Newheart" of the dramatic series St. Elsewhere. She wrote four mystery novels, was a prolific reader, an avid ice hockey fan, and could always make a friend laugh. She is survived by her son, Spencer Baird Niemi, and was loved by family and many close friends. She will be sorely missed.
