Matt Doyle turns 36 today. Doyle was born in Connecticut and later attended high school in California. He studied briefly at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art before beginning an acting career.
In 2021, Doyle began starring in the “gender-swapped” Broadway revival of Company. Last year, he won the Tony for Best Featured Actor in a Musical, in the role of Jamie. Fortunately, his performance of one of the main songs from the musical has been captured in good quality video.

Doyle made his Broadway debut in 2006, as part of the cast of the original production of the musical Spring Awakening. He has made several returns to Broadway in the subsequent 15-plus years, including a stint as Elder Price in The Book of Mormon.
Doyle also has an extensive off-Broadway and regional musical theater resume. He has starred as Tony in West Side Story, and Anthony Hope in Sweeney Todd. He has also had roles in musical adaptations of Picnic at Hanging Rock, Giant and a stage adaptation of A Clockwork Orange.

Aside from appearing on several cast albums, Doyle has released a solo studio album and two EP’s. In November of last year, he took over the lead role of Seymour Krelborn in the off-Broadway adaptation of the musical Little Shop of Horrors.
