View Full Version : ABC's New Logo

Somebody posted this at the GSN board. What do you all think?
I kinda like it. It looks sorta 60's/70's-ish, of course I'd have to actually see it on TV to make any real decisions. However, I think they could have used different colors. But it sure beats the heck out of the crappy plain yellow background. I had a feeling that ABC would probably have a new logo since they're changing their image and going back to family comedies :)
Brian Damage 08-26-2002, 01:24 PM I like it and you're right it does have a funky 70's-ish look to it.
Lance Link 08-26-2002, 04:44 PM I haven't seen it and probably won't because our ABC affiliate covers it up with their own logo which deffinitely interferes with the picture.
alf8mycat 08-26-2002, 06:51 PM It's hard to believe that at one time ABC was such a powerhouse and had shows like "Roseanne," "Home Improvement," 'Full House," etc etc, and had such great lineups on Tuesdays and Fridays. I can't think of any good shows that they have now, cept maybe for Drew Carey. Sadly that show isn't good any more and seems like the only thread connecting them to their 90's dominance.
SBTB Geek 08-26-2002, 08:02 PM I don't like the new logo.
BTW, I agree. ABC has been heading down- drastically.
Sadly... I think FOX has better programming than ABC now.
DarleneIllyria 08-26-2002, 08:38 PM The picture on that link makes it look like one of those lawn mazes. The dark green is the unmowed grass. The light green is the mowed grass and the yellow is dead mowed grass. I'll have to check the other colors the next time I watch ABC. lol
Will and Grace Fanatic 08-26-2002, 09:49 PM It's sad the last 2 powerhouse sitcoms they had were Roseanne and Home Improvement. Which ended in 1997 and 1999. Hopefully they'll actually have shows worth watching this season. Instead of all that bad crap they debuted last season. But I don't know why everyone is complaining about ABC with ratings going down there not the only network who's ratings went down.
NBC and the WB were the only 2 networks last season to have a ratings increase.
Although ABC had the biggest percentage drop.

Even though it isn't a sitcom, they did have 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire'. They kind of shot the arrow into the flames when they started to overplay it. If they had just did it sparingly, it might still be a power house for ratings. They just had to shove it down everybody's throat and make everybody sick of it
Sitcomwriter 08-27-2002, 12:05 PM I used to watch ABC alot growing up.Perfect Strangers,Family Matters,Roseanne,Full House,Baby Talk,Home Improvement.I have to admit I think in my first 10 years alive I watched it more than NBC! But I agree ABC has nothing "Powerhouse" anymore.Drew Carey had hope when it premiered but it's no more than a silly little nonsensical piece of crap! Hopefully Life with Bonnie and/or 8 Simple Rules can become hits!
AJ2086 08-27-2002, 03:24 PM It's not there new logo, ABC is still going to use the circle with ABC in the middle during the TV shows and stuff. But in commercials for the TV shows and in between them when they say "We'll be back in a moment" Those will be all based on that. No more ugly yellow. Thank the lord.

Yeah, that's waht I was thinking since the new one would take a lot of space.
"My Wife & Kids" imo has some promise for ABC. It was their highest rated sitcom for the 2001-'02 season. "8 Simple Rules" and "Life with Bonnie" look pretty good, I'll definatly be watching those this season.

Oh yeah, I didn't think of that, lol. What was in the picture sure would take a lot of space. I'm just glad that they got rid of that HORRID yellow. It just looked way too plain and blah.
