Did Vanessa ever marry Dabnus or were they going to later on or i thought i remember hearing that they cancelled the wedding?? Could someone please help me out?

They never did get married on the show, but were still together in the finale. They did hint that the two were going to get married eventually.

It was actually never stated in the last episode that Dabnis and Vanessa were together. They claimed to be just friends, although the family suspected more to their relationship after hearing them refer to each other as "honey."

They actually called off their wedding because Vanessa felt she was not ready to get married and Dabnis really wanted to settle down and with a wife and have a family. Although I personally feel they would have eventually ended up getting back together!!!:)

is it me or did this seem like an odd match to anyone else? maybe it's the age thing i can't get past.

They did seem like an odd match to me at first. I remember watching the episode where she announces her engagement when it originally aired and I thought it was hilarious, mainly because I didn't think anything would develop from it.

But as the season went on, I really sort of started to like the Dabnis/Vanessa pairing. I thought they were a good couple and he seemed to really care about her. I also liked it when he would help Cliff fix things around the house, and it was good to see Cliff have a productive relationship with one of his daughters' significant others(He didn't seem to have that with Elvin or Martin.)

I think Vanessa was a little too immature to be in such a serious relationship though...which is ultimately why they split up.
