View Full Version : Mindy Cohn in New Sitcom
Hey. The WB has announced it's new fall lineup and it looks like a new comedy called "The Help," co-starring Mindy Cohn and (of all people) Antonio Sabato Jr, will be a mid-season replacement sitcom next year. Pretty cool. Here's the link to the article. http://tv.zap2it.com/news/tvnewsdaily.html?31567

Thats awesome! I'll be sure to watch it.
Impressions 05-13-2003, 05:37 PM Really? That sounds kind of odd because when she wanted to do "The Surreal Life", she backed out immediately, maybe she wanted to work on this new sitcom for WB, I'm sure Mindy Cohn will do well in it. I hope the show will be a hit, I will be sure to watch it. Thanks for posting the link, to the article.
Will and Grace Fanatic 05-13-2003, 06:54 PM Just think about it though. An actress like her would probably want to do a sitcom where she can show off her acting talent. Than a show that makes you out to be a desperate actress looking for work. Which you can't get so you do a sleazy reality show.
jayman75 05-14-2003, 07:40 PM From the WB site:
THE HELP
From the creator of "Married¿With Children," this outrageous satire centers on idealistic, 22-year-old Maria (Camille Guaty, "What I Like About You," "The Brothers Garcia"), who was on her way to becoming a beautician when a family crisis forced her to take a new path, and she now finds herself employed as the maid for the extremely wealthy Ridgeway family. As one of many servants who dote on the demented and dysfunctional family, Maria discovers there's not only a class struggle between the upstairs and the downstairs, but there's an all out war among "The Help." The diverse cast includes Antonio Sabato, Jr. ("Melrose Place"), Al Santos ("Grosse Pointe"), Brenda Strong ("Everwood"), Mindy Cohn ("The Facts of Life"), Keri Lynn Pratt ("America's Sweethearts") and newcomers Megan Fox, Marika Domincyzek and Graham Murdoch. From executive producer Ron Leavitt ("Married... with Children," "Unhappily Ever After") and director Gerry Cohen ("The Drew Carey Show"), in conjunction with Original Productions and Warner Bros. Television Production Inc.

thegreatunknown 05-24-2003, 04:20 PM According to the internet movie database, Mindy Cohn isn't even listed in the cast list for "The Help". So I think that she, as well as a few other people have backed out of this one.
Hey, it ain't the first, ya know.
For a while, Mindy Cohn was even associated with producer Kevin Smith, And she was reported as to wanting to do HBO's
Mr. Show, in which she has also backed out of as well while it was still in production. Yes, obviously she wanted to do Mr. Show.
The show with David Cross and Bob Odenkirk.
jayman75 12-19-2003, 01:48 PM It certainly appears as though things have changed. Check this out:

Mindy Cohn Returns to TV in 'The Help'
Saturday March 6 11:03 AM ET
Mindy Cohn, who played plucky Natalie on the 1980s sitcom "The Facts of Life," is on TV again. She co-stars as a Maggie the Cook in the new WB sitcom "The Help," about a rich family and their hired help, which premiered Friday.
Cohn, 37, said she's never had a maid or a cook.
"I'm very private and I'm also persnickety about how things should be," she told AP radio recently. "I have a mother who trained her daughters to make their own bed, and clean their own house. I enjoy keeping house, it's never been a task for me so I've never had help."
But she does like the idea of cooking for people, especially her family.
"There is something very organic about going to the market every evening and getting fresh food and having people over and cooking it just to have family and friends over every night," she said. "There's nothing better than having people sit around a table and talk."
Cohn has been busy since graduating from college after "The Facts of Life." She voices the character Velma on the WB animated series "What's New, Scooby Doo?" and has been in several independent films.
