If I have pasta I must (MUST!) have grated parm on it. But I don’t think I’ve ever had it in block or slice form. So I didn’t include it on the list. https://www.instacart.com/image-server/448x448/filters:fill(FFF,true):format(webp)/www.instacart.com/assets/domains/product-image/file/large_36c64d20-0a7d-4175-8deb-0d19b27c6cec.jpg Bonniegirl 05-12-2023, 12:21 AM Mozzarella Mild Cheddar Monterey Jack American GoldenTV 05-12-2023, 12:53 AM I’m basing mine on cheeses I enjoy by themselves: Monterey Jack Feta Mozzarella (especially marinated in olive oil) Feta is also my favorite, especially with salad. Jalapeno cheese if by themselves. https://149422915.v2.pressablecdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Jalapeno-Havarti-Cheese-Richards-Fine-Meats-and-Deli-289-362-1792-260-Lakeshore-Road-St-Catharines-Onatario-Canada-300x300.jpg ThisLittlePiggy 05-12-2023, 01:35 AM Gouda Provolone Muenster Cheddar (mild) Zoneboy 05-12-2023, 03:00 AM Pepper Jack Mozzarella Swiss Cheddar Babalu 05-12-2023, 06:41 AM https://cdn3.volusion.com/prxrh.pnksr/v/vspfiles/photos/SCMOZZ-1-3.jpg?v-cache=1678361833 Fresh Mozzarella, tomato & basil is my favorite thing to eat. I get it fresh and warm on some weekend mornings from Pastosa - the best! (even if it is a bit of a trip back to Brooklyn) Shredded mozzarella for veal or chicken parmigiana is also great I don't eat hard mozzarella cheese by itself If you want to eat 'Parmesan' cheese what you want is Parmigiano Reggiano. That's the real thing made in Italy. That's what's served as an appetizer in good Italian restaurants. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0013/6731/0434/products/ParmigianoReggianoDOP36mesimonthsPDOEMILIAFOODLOVESelectedwithloveinItaly_600x.jpg?v=1636305323 Other than those I love cheddar, especially good soft port wine cheddar, Havarti, good blue cheese with honey on a cracker, and too many others to name. If anyone just eats cheese, they shouldn’t complain if someone just eats ketchup. Cheese itself if bad for you. It stops you up. Constipation. If you feel you need to stick a piece of dynamite up your butt to shake things loose, quit eating cheese. You aren’t doing yourself any favors. Caroline13 05-12-2023, 01:57 PM Well, it's true cheese stop you up...unless you are eating a bunch of fiber with it, its probably the most addicting food out there. I've done my share and lived with my share of Stopped up's....... icecream 05-12-2023, 02:00 PM Cheese is a condiment like ketchup. If anyone just eats cheese, they shouldn’t complain if someone just eats ketchup. Good grief! Cheese would not be considered by anyone else to be a condiment. :doublefacepalm: Caroline13 05-12-2023, 03:04 PM Cheese is a condiment like ketchup. If you feel you need to stick a piece of dynamite up your butt to shake things loose, quit eating cheese. You aren’t doing yourself any favors. Good grief, cheese is NOT a condiment, a bonafide food consumed worldwide...from the dairy industry's bag of other stuff that stops up. Bonniegirl 05-12-2023, 04:33 PM Not me, I don't have any problem with cheese causing constipation . But than I never eat cheese alone. On pizza, Lasagna, Mexican food, so it's melted cheese . Or a little bit of American cheese in a sandwich .;) Torgo 05-12-2023, 05:51 PM We're a cheese household. Mrs Torgo bought this last December. https://i.imgur.com/V04oNs1.jpg Colby Jack Parmesan Oregonzola (Home state Gorgonzola) Caroline13 05-12-2023, 05:54 PM Not me, I don't have any problem with cheese causing constipation . But than I never eat cheese alone. On pizza, Lasagna, Mexican food, so it's melted cheese . Or a little bit of American cheese in a sandwich .;) The melted process most likely saves you, and for American type, it's a processed cheese and in the cheese world, not a high quality, but it's used a lot since it's cheap. Hawkee 05-13-2023, 01:32 AM I'm a BIG cheese nut and when I have cheese I love Colby Jack cheese and string cheese and that's my usual go-to cheeses when I have Friday night snacks. My mom is also a cheese nut and she loves Swiss cheese and Muenster cheese and also Colby Jack cheese like me. But my great-grandmother liked sharp cheddar cheese and we always had to buy some when Mom and I would shop at the supermarket on Fridays picking up weekend snacks when my great-grandmother lived with my family for a time Bestie icecream 05-13-2023, 01:51 AM String Cheese Swiss Provolone Sharp Cheddar Colbyjack Muenster Jarlsberg Smoked Gouda Cheese is good in so many dishes of course besides solo. And at Olive Garden on top of the soup, their grated cheese as Jeopardy masters have started saying: Bring it! Real slices of cheese, not the processed crap cheese food singles. American is a common cheese I don't care for. Worse than it are pepperjack and pimento, can't stand anything olive related (the food, not the above mentioned restaurant ) |
