I have to concur about The Jets being mostly a horrible franchise, who have not been to a Super Bowl since Joe Namath was the Quarterback. The Jets have had some good years but have not won it all in fifty years, and frankly it is a crappy franchise and don’t really understand why this is.

I have not really kept up with NFL (I am a college football fan however), but getting a what, a 40 year old QB is a right move? It goes without saying (although I will) that any sport, and this includes football has to have all the pieces together to function.

These NFL players and I am sure Rodgers are paid millions a year but how much is enough? I can say on one level I am concerned about guys like him and Tom Brady (who retired after being the oldest player in the league) who keep playing this game year after year after year. For over twenty years in college and pros, Rodgers has been chased and thrown on turf by men larger than 1970’s Buicks. These guys play 16 games, and say they get knocked down ten times a game. That is 160 times a year. Think about getting knocked down by a large dude once a day for six months.

The turf, maybe. It’s always been considered dangerous with many complaints by home and visiting teams. There was a game a year or two ago where like three 49ers went down because of it. I haven’t seen anyone blame the rain. It didn’t look like a factor.

There’s various levels of pro though. You have your 10 time all stars, you have have your kids just out of college. Proper coaching is always going to be vital in one way or another.
