Had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with Martha Nix-Wade at the Logan County Pickers Market in Lincoln, IL today. She was on The Waltons for a time before appearing in two episodes of Archie Bunker's Place.

She played "Chris" who was one of Stephanie's friends on the Season 3, Episode 10 entitled "Stephanie's Dance" which aired on December 20, 1981.

In Season 3, Episode 17 called "Sex and the Single Parent" from February 21, 1982, she played Cathy Scott, a young teenager who ends up pregnant.

When I asked Martha about her time on ABP and what it was like to work with Danielee Brisbois and Carroll O'Connor, she said they were both wonderful to work with--very professional. After she had done the second episode, Carroll wanted her character to continue on the show, but that didn't happen. She also said that she hasn't seen that episode since it aired in 1982. The DVD set I own is a bootleg copy. If I had known this before hand I would've given her my copy of the DVD set--bootleg or not-- so she could finally see it after all these years.

She told me that most people do not know or remember of her appearances on ABP. I think she was surprised that I knew about it since I was born in 1978 and didn't get into shows like AITF, ABP, and The Waltons until 2002.

Good story, thanks for sharing. She was really cute and did a good job on ABP. I would have liked to see her character continue.

I thought she had a promising career ahead. Unfortunately ABP proved to be her last semi major role.

Her and Danielle must have worked together outside of Archie's Place
