Well incase you don't know. She left to become a regular on the tv series "Fame". Fame was a better vehicle for her singing career since at that time she was conflecting between an acting career and singing career.

Then of couse she became a big pop star. Iroically her breakout album "Control" was released at around the same time Diff'rent Strokes aired its last original episode.

Was she written off the show-i don't think i remember how she was no longer mention. I think she left in 81 or 82

They never actually explained her absence, she dissapeared midway through Season 5 and made 2 gust returns in season 6 but then never returned.

When janet jackson returned to makea guest appearance-do you know what that particular episode was about? I can't see why she would return unless her and willis were getting back together-But other than that-why would she return if shewas only on the show as willis girlfriend

It was the second part of the wedding. She was there as Willis's girlfriend just as if she had always been there and they never broke up.

That's kind of strange that she would return for the drummond and maggie wedding because you didn't see her anymore which i thought ment they were no longer together. Well i guess i will have to wait a long time to see the wedding episode because i just found out that TNN will not air different strokes after Aug 30th

It wasn't only the second part of the wedding, she also returned in episode 134- Houseguest in which she moved in with the Drummonds for a week, and the impression given out in that episode was that she and Willis would one day get married.

:p she was stupid when she was on diff'rent strokes.. its good she left.
