Let's have a look at a few published food pyramids,
since most Chit Chat threads lately are turning into
health forums based on food choices:

Breads figure prominently in most any pyramid you will find.
I'm not here to promote the bread industry, wheat farmers, etc.
I have no reason to promote them, but I like breads and so
do many others. Some have cut them out of their diets,
which is their choice. So, I wonder if there are new pyramids
out there that play down breads in the diet. Legumes seem
to be practically under attack at times as well. Some believe
that peanut allergies are related to sterile environments,
apparently in which a baby is not exposed to non-harmful bacteria.

As far as grains, when I was growing up I ate a lot of
vitamin-fortified cereals, sometimes as a side-dish. My brother
did not. When you compare our health, he has always had bad
hay fever, constant runny nose, deviated septum, all of that stuff,
while I haven't. I really believe those cereals contributed in no
small way to health I'm "fortunate" to have. I also ate legumes
in MUCH bigger quantities than he did. Anecdotal things like that
don't mean much, but as the saying goes, "it works for me."

If something works for you, stick with it. The only thing is, when
you try to "stick" your food philosophy on others, don't be surprised
if it's not always embraced with open arms. Suspicion of the
modern-day "snake oil salesman" may not be a bad thing.

Regarding legumes, specifically peanuts, those who seem to blame the food itself for severe allergies may not be considering actual causes:

https://www.everlywell.com/blog/food-allergy/why-are-peanut-allergies-so-common/#:~:text=There%20is%20now%20a%20consensus%20among%20allergy%20experts,barriers%2C%20causing%20them%20to%20overreact%20to%20peanut%20protein.

"Why are peanut allergies common in children?
Over the past 20 years, food allergies have increased dramatically [3]. Although healthcare providers and scientists recognize the rise in food allergies, the cause is still unclear.

One possible explanation is improvement in hygiene [3]. This is sometimes referred to as the hygiene hypothesis. There is now a consensus among allergy experts that peanut allergies originate from skin contact [4,5,6]. Due to the increase in hygiene, babies may have weaker skin barriers, causing them to overreact to peanut protein [3].

The hygiene hypothesis originates from two concepts. First, children with eczema, a skin condition, have a higher chance of developing peanut allergies compared to children without eczema [2,3]. Additionally, developing countries with less access to hygiene have lower rates of food allergies [3]."

Harvard School of Public Health ?? How DARE they try to
"impart" their knowledge to us! Is that a loaf of whole wheat
bread on there? What the.... ! SHOCKING.

Maybe we should instead buy the books of those doctors with
their fad diets - after all, their primary goal is to keep
their patients' health poor so that they keep returning to their
practices... ;)

I think the Harvard Pyramid is a fake, a prank done by Yale
students. Boola boola! How could a Harvard erudite produce
that, they actually eat bread? And use peanut oil...!!!!!

Many factors involved in all the information published, the big one Which Industry is Printing it?

Do what feels ok for you all, I have lived a long life and know I don't want breads and cereals and white rice... I've done them all.

If I were to go back to eating breads, which I'm not, I would be looking at Sprouted Breads at Trader Joe's. I've heard good things about them.

Last bowl of cereal I had was moldy.....peanuts have mold too, grown underground....

Does anyone know of a good healthy weekly eating plan?

Ok Dakert, I checked your profile and now know your age, unless you've fudged....Everyone has their own eating plans and habits, do they need to take weight off or put it on, or what goal does one have.

I personally say, don't load that plate and don't eat until uncomfortable, save leftovers for later.

Just curious, has something changed in your body to ask about a plan??
