Which character are you like?
When I was a kid, I was a bit like Laura, because I liked playing pranks on family members and friends and enjoyed "roughing it" on field trips.
But as I grew older, I identified more with John Jr. (Times of Change does not exist in my mind ) and a little bit of Mary. I have a quiet, introspective personality and feel joy, sorrow and love deeply the way John does. (Remember Me, Going Home and I'll Ride the Wind) And I also have a great love for nature, art, literature and music. I'm a writer at heart and have all sorts of stories ringing in my head that I can't wait to put on paper. All the other guys in my circle were sportsy and I felt like a fish out of water. I struggled with depression, anxiety and feeling wimpy, not good enough or tough enough, the way John does in His Father's Son. And I knew what it was like to want to make a living doing what I love best but then have to be practical and put my God-given talents in their proper place. (I'll Ride the Wind)
I'm like Mary too though in that I'm not afraid to defend myself (The Bully Boys) or my brood if need be. (The Wolves) And sometimes I wish I were a teacher like her because I consider it a learning experience for students and instructors alike.
I wrote a fanfiction story where John marries Mary after all and learns to be strong for her when she loses her vision, in case you want to read it. I cover events from Seasons 2-7.
