Despite a strong start, the 2023 Night Court reboot has seen its ratings drop rapidly in a short time, due to repetitive and shallow humor.

I want so much for it to succeed but it is getting to where it is almost an insult to the original. Other than John Larroquette the casting was terrible. I wish they would have cast Dana Carvey as the judge and had him be either a brother or nephew of Harry. Guest appearances from Brent Spiner, Yakov Smirnov, Judy Landers, and the Will/Phil character and maybe Quon Le as the late Mac's widow. Since Mel Torme is dead maybe they could get someone like Ted Nugent or Ozzy Osbourne as the token singer the judge could be obsessed with. Or David Spade as judge. Another hilarious comedian/actor.

David Spade is a terrible actor (I know he was somehow nominated for four Emmys but did not deserve those nominations). And Mel Torme is likable, but Ozzy Osbourne does not need more publicity. Now if they could get Yakov Smirnoff as a regular that would be great, but I think he is too busy. I like the casting of Melissa Rauch and Lacretta (but tone down Gurg's pervishness and give Abby more confidence). Neil adds nothing to the show and could easily be replaced. And the DA is pretty but gets annoying fast.
