View Full Version : That Time The Golden Girls Solved a Murder Mystery TMC 04-12-2023, 09:41 PM LrZaJAwdwWw BestTVever 04-13-2023, 07:11 AM This is one of the better episodes of the later seasons. It was fun and worked better than the children's play. I still prefer the Girls sticking to their own dilemmas. But it was a fun and entertaining episode. I always hated Sophia's lines of constantly interrupting the mystery. They were lame jokes that did not work i.e. "Does this mean we dont get any birthday cake?" They just went overboard with trying to make Sophia clever. She is better in small doses. michelala 05-07-2023, 12:16 PM This is another plotline they recycled from "It's a Living". Both shows were created by the same team. After "It's a Living" ended it's run in 1989 they brought over Marc Sotkin to produce the last 3 seasons of TGG. The children's play was another plotline from IAL. Steve_uk 05-07-2023, 12:32 PM I thought the earlier episodes written by Susan Harris were the best. My mother stopped watching the show very early on. BestTVever 05-08-2023, 07:21 AM This is another plotline they recycled from "It's a Living". Both shows were created by the same team. Although the Golden Girls did the child's play better, I recently saw the Its A Living children's play and it was so lame. I found the IAL version annoying because of their singing. The Golden Girls did not sing songs in the play. Good catch! I will always say: The first 3 seasons of GG are excellent. Season 4 is good. Season 5 to the end was hit or miss but then went off the rails. There is always a good episode now and then but they became rare. They were always better solving their own problems rather than tackling modern day current topics like homelessness, AIDS, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, teenage pregnancy, single motherhood, gambling, Assisted suicide, pace makers, literacy, etc. BestTVever 05-08-2023, 07:21 AM This is another plotline they recycled from "It's a Living".
