Has anybody kept track how many times Larry fired Darrin during the show's run? I know that it was funny and just a show. However, at some point it would have been good for the show had Darrin started his own firm for a few episodes.

There is one episode, that SCREEN GEMS doesn't air, where Endora has a spell on Darrin(Dick Sargent)that makes him feel that Larry should retire and let him take over

I don't know, but the first three seasons of the series with Dick York as Darrin, are a little bit better than the last two Dick York as Darrin years ,because in the last two with Dick York and in most of the Dick Sargent episodes ,Larry fired Darrin,(letting his greed get the best of him),and then at the end, hired him back again.

If I was stuck with Larry Tate for a boss, I'd probably jump out the window!! But to be fair, Darrin also did quit several times and "retired" once (in the first season).

An episode that Screen Gems doesn't air???? Does that mean its not in the syndication package? Is it included in the dvd release? I'm interested in knowing more about this.

It was episode #191 from Season 6 "What makes Darrin Run" where Darrin gets spelled by Endora to be Mad with Power.

But this is always shown in the regular syndicated rotation & of course is on the DVD Set so the it doesn't air is not correct.

Larry Tate :)

I don't know about that, the whole Darrin your Fired...............Darrin your Hired again thing was pretty much the same throughout the 8 year run of Bewitched.

"What Every Man Should Know" #72 from Season 2 is an example of it being the case in the beginning.

Larry Demanded a cut of the action or that Darrin was done, so Darrin quiet & threw him out.

^ Yeah, the firing/rehiring/quitting was definitely one of the recurring threads of Bewitched. Larry definitely did push the bounds of ethics quite a few times - surprised he never got sued!!

To Darrin's credit he never ratted Larry out to his wife, considering what a womanizer Larry was, but then again Louise knew.

My favorite thing with Larry Tate was when he always would chew Darrin out in front of the client, about how an idea is stupid, while the client is giving it some thought and all of a sudden says, I LIKE IT, then Larry says, like I said, Stephens is the best!!!

Between putting up with Endora at home and Larry at work, I'm surprised Darrin never jumped off a bridge!! Samantha and their mutual love kept him going.
