A I Love Lucy Easter:
(Lucy comes into the Mertzes guest house.)
Lucy: “Ethel, did you hear the news?”
Ethel: “What news?”
Lucy: “The Westport Historical Society is having an Easter egg roll on Easter. The first prize is this big screen TV.”
Ethel: “Let me guess. You are going to enter and hopefully win the TV.”
Lucy: “Yes.”
Ethel: “Good for you. I would enter it but Fred is stuck in his ways. He is not going to pay taxes on a new TV.”
(Fred comes in.)
Fred: “That’s right Ethel. There is nothing wrong with the TV we have.”
Ethel: “Sure there isn’t…if this was 1955.”
Fred: “Oh, you got jokes huh? That TV ain’t that old.”
Ethel: “You are right. It was made in 1935.”
(Lucy laughs.)
Fred: “I’m going out to the hen house.”
(He does.)
Lucy: “Oh Ethel, I am going to enter the contest.”
(She does.)
(On the day of the Easter egg roll. Lucy is at the starting line. The Mertzes are there.)
Ethel: “Lucy, take a look. Your fellow contestants are all kids.”
Lucy: “I will go easy on them.”
Woman: “On your marks, get set, go.”
(They are off. The woman realizes what Lucy is doing.)
Woman: “That lady can’t run in the race. It’s in the fine print.”
(She runs after her. The kids are running much faster than Lucy.)
Lucy: “This will be harder than I thought.”
(Ricky comes by.)
Ricky: “Hi Ethel & Fred. Where’s Lucy?”
Fred: “She is in the egg roll.”
Ricky: “Ay!”
(He starts muttering in Spanish.)
Ricky: “This contest is only for kids. How can they let her in?”
(It’s almost at the finish line, Lucy decides to fall onto the finish line before the kids do and she gets egg all over her face.)
Woman: “I’m sorry lady. I didn’t know you had intentions of running in the race. You have been disqualified due to you being an adult. It says here in the fine print that adults can’t enter. We can’t let you have the prize. The real winner is Jess Oppenheimer.”
Jess: “Yes! I won!”
Lucy (with egg all over her face): “Ewwww!”
(Ricky & the Mertzes come over. Ricky sees Lucy’s face and is laughing.)
Ricky: “This is one time where Lucy has egg all over face literally.”
(They laugh. Lucy cries.)
(The end.)
(Lucy comes into the Mertzes guest house.)
