I keep seeing ads for a Broadway play named Six and I wonder why it's become so popular? From what I learned about it it's a musical based on the six wives of Henry VIII and the music is great and it even was featured in the 2021 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
Why is Six so popular?

I believe the popularity is because it allows the women to demonstrate that they are "more than" just Henry XIII's wives.
When you have a renowned historical figure, much that is around them gets swept into their shadow. And I think this show is mostly saying the women are worthy of a little bit of spotlight, too.

Is Six a great Broadway play? I heard the album and the songs are wonderful and some of the lyrics of Six's songs are very funny

Great? I suspect some feel that way. It's subjective/
To any woman holding female empowerment high on their list of priorities, they likely think so.
