LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Singer Michael Jackson appears to be a three-time pop -- in the parental sense, that is.
The Gloved One recently attended a performance by Las Vegas magicians Siegfried and Roy with his two children by ex-wife Debbie Rowe -- 5-year-old son Prince Michael and 4-year-old daughter Paris -- plus an infant boy he introduced as his "third child," People magazine reported on Thursday.
Jackson's personal publicist could not immediately be reached for comment. But a backstage source from the Siegfried and Roy show told Reuters that Jackson did, indeed, bring all three youngsters to the July 30 show, including a 7-month-old baby introduced by Jackson as Prince Michael II.
Jackson did not mention whether the child was his biological son or adopted; "He just said it was his child," the source said.
People magazine quoted producer and Jackson friend Gary Pudney as saying he met the "very cute" infant in April and that he understood, also, that Jackson's two sons shared the same moniker.
"That's correct, Prince I and Prince II," Pudney told the magazine.
Another unnamed Jackson friend expressed skepticism about the baby's real name, telling People, "A lot of things are done just to throw the public off," and that Jackson sometimes calls the baby "the third" or "No. 3."
The magazine quoted a source close to the self-professed King of Pop as saying the boy was conceived "the natural way" rather than adopted.
The unnamed friend told the magazine he believed Rowe, who gave birth to Prince and Paris before her 1999 divorce from Jackson, could not be ruled out as the mother of No. 3, saying, "Anything's possible .... They still have a relationship."
