Interesting Dude, pain of all types has been with us forever... My first brush with pain was when I was 18, arthritic back pain. Back in those days it was Aspirin, Anacin, Bufferin and today these are still available, but big pharma developed Big Guns and the milder meds were thrown under the bus. I juat bought some Bufferin after being away from them for probably 50 yrs...they do the job for me.

Marketing companies do their big pushes.

Paregoric was common when I was a kid. Opium for an upset stomach.

I liked the stuff. I'm surprised I didn't hunt the bottle down; my mother probsbly hid it well.

Anacin is still around?

Oh yes, in drug stores, don't know, but on ebay yes and all the old and new stuff in the world.

When I first got hooked on ebay, I found people trying to make some bucks on the old old Evening in Paris perfume..... Remember that one Steve ..

Biff: a small part of me wants to reply to your rather foolish post above, so I believe I will ignore it.

I used to have a copy of a book called "The Anarchist Cookbook", which in addition to step by step instructions for bomb making and booby trap rigging, also had a section on Field Expedient methods to manufacture illicit drugs, including a fairly extensive listing of which plants and shrubs contained precursor components you could concentrate and use as an alternative to the closely watched chemicals the DEA is always on the look out for questionable purchases.

It's really amazing the pharmacology that is all around us every day. If one knows what they are looking for.

I thought that having a sense of humor contributed to good health. Apparently not everyone here believes that... Note that I've labeled myself "Sentimental Fool," so you can expect some "foolish" posts from me now and then.
