Why is it all the news stories about missing children are obligated to include the verbiage "(they) are believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance"?

Every one I see in the local news always seems to include that exact statement. And 8 times out of 10 the kid shows up later safe at some relative's house. I could understand the alarmism if a contentious relationship with another adult relative was involved, say an ex with visitation grievances, or similar. But every single story?

Almost makes me wonder if the claimed danger might be some law enforcement ploy to "bust down the doors" without a warrant.....claiming there is a lifesaving aspect to their mission?

Unless, of course, there is some link I am unaware of that makes chronically ill children susceptible to kidnapping?

With the prohibitive cost of medical care in this country, I suspect you could say most people living in America might be missing out on medical care they need? So why the hype on the runaways?

Fear and Negativity bring in the audiences...


Oh it's been said for decades, believe nothing you read, and about half of what you see. All is WORSE in these times than ever....media sensationalizes it all.

No one would catch me watching tv and I even question the radio people I trust Somewhat..

I sincerely suspect it is a "pretext" strategy for entry (to anyplace the kid is suspected to be).

I believe the cops get expanded authority when they can establish danger to life and limb.
