I was amazed when I found out that Parley Baer played Chester in the original "Gunsmoke" radio series, along with Howard McNear as Doc Adams.

You're getting your Mayor's mixed up, Dick Elliott the first Mayor of Mayberry played the judge in that Superman episode. Interestingly enough Dick Elliott was in the last Superman episode as well.

Baer never appeared in The Adventures of Superman, he did appear frequently in The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet.
