A show known for misunderstandings which was your favorite?

My favorite misunderstanding was the episode when Jack had his restaurant opening night when Janet and Terri were outside trying to get people to come inside and the undercover cop thought they were hookers lol and thought Furley was a pimp. "Jacks in there taking care of the John"

Jack: Maybe we could sell something.

Chrissy: I've only got one thing worth selling and I was hoping to save that till I got married.

[the other two look at her in shocked silence]

Chrissy: My grandmother's wedding ring

The Older Woman episode is my favorite. What a brilliant set up with Jack meeting Helen's cousin and going out with her even though she is much older than Jack. When Jack breaks the news to the girls they are for it until Helen's Aunt shows up delivering Jack's swimsuit and they believe she is the older woman Jack is dating. The misunderstandings keep happening over and over. Then Larry is set up to try and lure Aunt Martha away from Jack. When Larry tries to get smitten, he gets slapped and Aunt Martha runs away only to be met by the Ropers at the door. Aunt Martha accuses Larry of trying to seduce her which gets the best look and reaction from Mrs Roper.
The script is pure genius and acted out beautifully.

When they believe Chrissy is a kleptomaniac is another good one. The Days of Weeds and Beer is another good one where they believe Chrissy picked marijuana and gave it to Helen.

Season 2 and 3 were the best of misunderstandings. They got silly and then dumb in the later episodes.

The bit where Jack and Chrissy are installing a shower curtain and Mr. Furley is overhearing from the living room thinking they're doing some hanky panky.

The episode where Jack goes to the hospital for a tattoo removal, earlier there's a scene where Jack uses Janet's suitcase but her lingerie is inside and so Mr. Furley upon opening the suitcase assumes Jack is going in for a sex operation.

Chrissy has a wart on her finger and Mr. Roper thinks Chrissy is having a baby.

Classic!

Another funny one involves the Ropers in the episode The Baby Sitters. When Chrissy calls Mrs Roper in the middle of the night about the crying baby Stanley wonders who Helen is talking about with Chrissy. Did you feel is bottom Chrissy? Put some honey on his nipple. Put some oil between his legs and rub powder on it. Mr Roper freaking out in bed yelling WHAT? over and over is funny :lol:
