Frank Gannucci 03-20-2023, 06:58 PM I can tell you that I did not bid on these but I did bid and won some tapes from that seller that producers copies of color Honeymooners episodes. Sone of the episodes are “Flushing Ho” and others.

As far as the first link goes, those are the syndicated half hour episodes of ASM. I can tell because on some labels, the TV station is written on them. The stations are KCET tv and the future WWOR tv.
These episodes can be bought online via Thomas film classics and other sites I think.

I have one of the box sets from this site. I bought it thinking it may have the Jackie Gleason show from 1970 that supposedly has the Incredible World of Ed Norton but it didn’t. Some of these have commercials from the early 1980s from WWOR. Also, during the end credits, the announcer yaks over them to advertise Mets games, racing from Yonkers etc.
Frank Gannucci 04-06-2023, 07:16 AM I think the tapes are on eBay again

Wow, that collection of "American Scene" episodes! :(
Frank Gannucci 04-09-2023, 01:11 PM I can tell you that I did not bid on these but I did bid and won some tapes from that seller that producers copies of color Honeymooners episodes. Sone of the episodes are “Flushing Ho” and others. Also, there are are some other ASM episodes. They might be different than the ASM ones I have.
Some of the color Honeymooners episodes are syndicated copies from the late 70s. Also, i got the Showtime version of What’s The Name (with the sketches original closing credits. That surprised me.)
I am getting around to making sure whether or not the color episodes from the seller are different than the MPI copies (other than them being in B&W.)

Well, I screened all the color episodes that I got from the eBay seller. Unfortunately, they are the same copies that have been available on DVD for years. One of them that he did have which is different is one that I already have called Petticoat Jungle. However, the one copy that he did have which I got has an Easter Seals commercial and an IRS commercial at the end with a graphic that says: “This program has been prerecorded.” It also has the CBS announcer yakking over the end credits. There are also, some copies are from syndication in the 70s. One like The Honeymooners In England has one commercial. There are some other ones too.
Among other things from the seller that I transferred to DVD in addition to the color Honeymooners episodes are
The Poor Soul XMas Special
Jackie Gleason Tinight Show Interview (the seller only had the interview and not the whole show. His copy was taped off of NBC.)
TV Road Trip episodes from the Travel Channel (one has a Honeymooners segment)
A 2003 Honeymooners sketch from Mad TV.
1954 Love Letter rebroadcast from TV Land (his copy has TV Land crunching the credits at the very end. For the most part, the credits are full-screen with no voiceover except for the Jackie Gleason Show announcer saying the names of EVERYONE in the credits and their jobs.)
Four episodes of ASM that MIGHT be different than the ones I have
Jackie Gleason Show with Milton Berle and Bob Newhart (B&W copy).
What’s The Name sketch taped off of Showtime (surprisingly it includes the Jackie Gleason Show closing credits that it was a part of. It also has Jackie stumps for P&G..)
AVGA Entertaininer of the Year 1978. (Jackie hosted it.)
Mary Tyler Moore 20th Anniversary (Not Honeymooners related obviously. I figured I would include it.)
Calvacade of Stars episode with Jane Pickens.
Several more episodes of the Jackie Gleason Show (one of which I think is the one that aired on 1/17/70 with NO Incredible World of Ed Norton sketch.)
Jackie Gleason Show with Johnnie Ray as guest host
Jackie Gleason Show with Vikki Carr and Milton Berle. I think it may be the same as the other Milton Berle episode that’s above.
One tape I couldn’t copy because my VCR for some reason rejected it (I’m serious. It wouldn’t go in all the way and spit it out like a child who wouldn’t eat food. Hehehehe.) that tape has the last half of One Big Happy Family, the last half of “The Sun & The Raccoon Capital”, the first half of “Play It Again, Norton” and the first half of “Honeymooners In Chicago.”
Other tapes that I didn’t bother to convert to DVD either because I already have them and/or just weren’t interested were
The Reunion specials.
Some of the 1950s Trip To Europe episodes
The Larry King Live Honeymooners episode from 2002.
Dinah Shore Chevy Show with Art Carney
1929 movie Sally (Figured I would include this even though it’s not Honeymooners related.)
Jackie & Julie How Sweet It Is
Jackie Gleason Interviews with Tom Synder, 20/20, and Good Morning America
Dean Martin Show (not Honeymooners related. Figured I would include it.)
You’re In The Picture game show.
What’s My Line episodes from the 70s with Rodney Dangerfield (not Honeymooners related.)
Honeymooners 1966 Adiption episode taped off of TV Land
The Honeymooners Lost episodes 1st season from MPI.
Jackie Gleason XMas Show from 1963 that is the same as the below image.
Some of the tapes I have come from what I am assuming is a defunct company called Flashback Films. The current company with that name is based in London.
Frank Gannucci 04-11-2023, 10:26 AM BTW, all the footage I recorded I didn’t edit out the commercials that came from the sellers tapes. However some footage the seller didn’t include the commercials.
Frank Gannucci 04-25-2023, 09:42 AM I think the tapes are on eBay again

One of the tapes is Honeymooners Behind The Scenes. I wonder what’s on that tape? Anyone have any thoughts? They have been relisted.

Not to sound impatient, but the auction ends tomorrow. Anyone have thoughts?
Frank Gannucci 05-01-2023, 05:32 PM The seller provided the photo. It sounds like the Inside TV Land special. Anyone have thoughts? BTW the photo I have is the photo he gave me. He gave it to me sideways.
Yeah. That also came out in 2000.
Frank Gannucci 05-09-2023, 07:28 AM It’s been relisted again. Seems like he is having trouble selling it.
I am going to try to copy and paste the link. Hopefully it works since for whatever reason, I have been having trouble. I’m not an idiot. I swear. I know that no one on this board has called me this though.

Frank Gannucci 05-16-2023, 11:04 PM I remember asking the seller a long time ago if these tapes that had the color Honeymooners on them had the original openings (aka not the original openings that appeared on the MPI home video releases but ones that had different Glea Girls in them that are different than their home video versions like example the B&W k8noscope of the episode “Petticoat Jungle” has different Glea girls than the MPI home video version).
This is the conversation
“Does it contain producers copies and/or original versions of Color Honeymooners episodes?
Frank”
His response:
“I don't think so. Those are all the ones you passed on.”
What does anyone think?
Maybe he got those from someone else so he doesn't know their origins or when they were recorded.
Frank Gannucci 05-18-2023, 07:26 AM Maybe he got those from someone else so he doesn't know their origins or when they were recorded.
Thank you. The mind is wondering.
Frank Gannucci 05-18-2023, 07:48 AM I am wondering if I should bid on this. I am afraid that I would be wasting my money. I am 99% sure the tapes don’t have the original openings to the Color Honeymooners.
Frank Gannucci 05-21-2023, 08:50 AM I bought the tapes.
Frank Gannucci 05-30-2023, 11:11 PM I’m in the process of converting sone of these to DVDs. I should have a list of these soon. So far, I found at least three syndicated Jackie Gleason Show episodes from the future WWOR. I’m not sure if these are on Tubi and I’m not sure if these are on the other tapes I bought from this seller and I’m not sure if these episodes are the same from the DVD box set I bought from Thomas Film Classics which I think was called Jackie Gleason Show DVD box set volume 2 (I think both volumes have 24 episodes but I’m not sure.)
Frank Gannucci 06-12-2023, 07:48 PM On 6/27/2006, Videowack wrote this on this site.
""Confusion, Italian Style": Opening production number is cut by 1 minute. It's a very clever edit and most viewers would not pick it up. I wouldn't have either except that I have a kinescope of this same show and uncut the number runs 2:30, here it runs 1:30. Again, the same recording used in 1977 and on Goodlife." (Note: That channel is now known today as YTA TV.)
https://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards...t=Greta&page=2
I acquired the uncut version of this as well. It's a B&W kinoscope. It's funny watching the "CBS presents this program in color" in B&W. The first two screen caps are from the intro and ending of the opening dance number from MPI. The third and fourth ones are from the kinoscope. Notice the difference in running times from the beginning and end. The fifth and sixth screen grab is footage that is not on the MPI DVD whatsoever. It's Glea Girl Greta Von Hagge (nee Randall) doing the sponsor plug. The seventh one is for Purina Cat food. I included it because I think kittens and small dogs are adorable.
There is another ad that I am too lazy to put a screen cap. It's for Caramille candy feeaturing an Indian. I don't think that this ad would fly today but I can be wrong. There is also an ad for Zenith celebrating it's 50th (at the time) anniversary by showing off it's then current TVs. How times have changed. Also, at the end when the Jackie Gleason Show logo appears, Johnny Olsen plugs the "next week's" episode but no clips are shown.
Videowack on his site said he had color Honeymooners episodes (with different openings and different Glea girls.)
Confusion Italian Style is a part of the tapes that this eBay seller was part of this tape set that I bought. I also can confirm that this print has more footage that the MPI version doesn’t have. It’s the June Taylor Dancers singing at the end of scene one that only lasts less than a minute.
Frank Gannucci 06-12-2023, 08:12 PM Now here’s the tapes the guy has. It has a number of syndicated Jackie Gleason Show episodes from WWOR. I don’t know if they are on Tubi but they do have the commercials. The Stage Show episode is missing the last day ten minutes or so.
A lot of these I didn’t bother to dub to DVD since I don’t care for them or I already have them on DVD. Here they are. I should note that the 1954 Jackie Gleason Show episode that he has has a blooper that is on the Jackie Gleason Honeybloopers and Jackie Gleason Funniest Moments compilations where Jackie has to stall for time due to something that happened behind the curtain so he does things like putting his tie on and explaining to the audience the blunder that happened behind the curtain. Also one or two of the Calvacade of Stars episodes came from VHS releases that were issued in 1983. Also the Hineymooning Behund The Scenes is Inside TV Land: The Honeymooners. Also, there is no versions of the Color Honeymooners episodes in this set that are different than the MPI versions except for Confusion, Italian Style. The last ten minutes of the Color Honeymooners episode “You’re In The Picture” is from syndication.
Frank Gannucci 06-12-2023, 08:14 PM Here are two more images. The second image is from the tape that has the 1954 episode of the Jackie Gleason Show that has the time code on the bottom as well as that blunder I talked about in an earlier post in this thread that I made today (6/12/2023).
Frank Gannucci 06-12-2023, 09:12 PM Here are better pics. I wasn’t too thrilled with my earlier attempt so…
I also can confirm that this print has more footage that the MPI version doesn’t have. It’s the June Taylor Dancers singing at the end of scene one that only lasts less than a minute. I am going to post the images as best as I could. The DVD player on my computer works but it is very hard, if not impossible to post images from my computer onto this site due to the DVD player I have. So I am relying on my IPhine and IPad.
This is the images from Confusion Italian Style that proves that MPI edited the footage.
The first four are obviously from MPI and the last three are from this guy’s set.
Frank Gannucci 06-12-2023, 09:59 PM BTW, the “Petticoat Jungle” episode that he has MAY have a some seconds of footage that MPI has but I’m not sure.
Frank Gannucci 11-02-2025, 09:46 PM I know this is an old message but I want to point t out that this tape that I will supply images of is a producers copy with original ads.
Frank Gannucci 11-04-2025, 02:30 PM A while back, I acquired tapes of the Jackie Gleason show from an eBay seller including a tape that wouldn’t go inside the vcr.
Well, thanks to certain people on the Chit Chat board of this site, I fixed the problem and dubbed the tape to DVD. Here’s the tape
biffbronson 11-04-2025, 03:26 PM Off topic but related to recordings of older programs:
I wanted to make a suggestion in general that everyone check Internet Archive for programming that's been added there, oftentimes from VHS (or Beta) tape sources, before purchasing recorded media:
https://archive.org/
There's a complete or near-complete 1-season Connie Stevens sitcom there that may interest you; I didn't want to link to it here directly, for fear it may be removed (due to copyright issues). I'll send you a link in a private message. Something I wanted and waited years for appeared this past summer on there, a great resource!
