The new millennium saw a radical change in the Disney Brand and its presence on the silver screen. Having been bought by ABC in 1996, the Disney Channel went through a process of re-branding, drastically changing its marketing strategy, syndication standards, and divesting all of its (then current) animated programming to the new channel Toon Disney. And while Disney’s animated films may have been under performed from 2000-2012, their television channel was at its undeniable peak.

There were a lot more things I should have mentioned, like Movie Surfers and the channel’s transition into what is now known as “The Ribbon Era”, but there are already so many videos that talk about Miley, Demi, and Selena, and I wanted to focus on the years mentioned in the title.
