During his time on The Andy Griffith Show Andy Griffith also had the chance to become Post Cereal's spokesman during the 1960's through the 70's and appeared in dozens of Post cereal commercials and it seemed to work well. The most famous Post Cereal commercial that Andy Griffith was known for was one for Post Grape Nuts which featured Andy and Barney Fife doing exercises and Andy Griffith tells Barney all about the good taste of Grape Nuts and after they eat the commercial ends with the chant "A Grape Nuts breakfast fills you up not out". The last Andy Griffith commercial for Post Cereal he appeared in was for Post Toasties in the 70's and with Andy Griffith being popular he certainly helped Post sell a lot of cereal during that time. These commercials are a huge treasure trove for Andy Griffith fans

The casts of so many 50's and 60's sitcoms would do sponsor ads. I have seen the casts of "The Andy Griffith Show", "Bewitched", "The Beverly Hillbillies", "That Girl" and "The Danny Thomas Show" do ads for their sponsors. Enjoyable pieces of history.

Even Bugs Bunny did ads for Post (for the Bugs Bunny Show).
