View Full Version : Need suggestions for my GI website...
JWood201 08-21-2002, 02:11 PM I started work on a Gilligan's Island website about a month ago; it's coming along quite nicely. What I need from you guys are suggestions for new things I can add to or change on the site to make it better. I know that the Photo Gallery is incomplete and the Isle News will be updated regularly, so don't tell me to fix them, I know. lol.
I was thinking of adding a Fan Stuff page with fan fiction, art, etc, but I'd need submissions.
Here's the site addy:

(Don't forget to sign the Guestbook! hehe)
Thanks and I'll consider all suggestions! :)
pontoon 08-21-2002, 02:45 PM ...a cool little video game, where the goal is to get 'em all off the island!
I'm sure if yer good with a 'puter, you can come up with something simple that can be fun for your visitors! ;)
Nice looking site JWood201!
pontoon
JWood201 08-21-2002, 02:51 PM That's a great suggestion, but I'm not *that* skilled at the computer and those kinds of programs. Wouldn't know how on earth to pull that off. LOL.
pontoon 08-21-2002, 03:18 PM ...and he said a simple 'java script' program wouldn't be THAT hard for someone who's computer savvy.
I think it would be cool to have the island on one side of your screen (with all the castaways on it)...and the 'mainland' on the other. There would be rafts, sea creatures etc. scrolling through the water...and the object would be to get a 'castaway' onto an item in the water, to whisk them to Hawaii! Could look a little like the 'Frogger' game!
Maybe I'll try to get the boss to write a simple program fer ya!
I WANNA play!
pontoon
JWood201 08-21-2002, 04:23 PM Aw, that sounds like such a good game! lol.
I'm not that good with Java but that would be awesome is your boss would agree to do that. Of course, I'd give you two credit on my page....
I wanna play too!
pontoon 08-21-2002, 04:40 PM ...usually have a lotta free time at work, so I'm GONNA talk him into it!
Gimme some time, and we could possibly see a link to 'The Castaway Get-Away' on yer site!
We can even have random characters like the 'Native Chief', 'The Robot', 'Harold Hechuba', the 'Mosquitos' and others pop in from time-to-time and send them back a peg!
And if ya get the 'jet-pack'...you make it to Hawaii even FASTER! But ONLY Gilligan can use it!
The possibilities ARE endless!
Any more talk about this in public, and we'll need a patent pending! :D
I'm off to research other GI games. ;)
poon
JWood201 08-21-2002, 05:02 PM Awesome! I'm so excited now. lol.
I like the ideas of the random Guest Stars to send them back...
Ooh, I just had an idea. hehe. One of the things used to get to the mainland could be the surfer dude, Duke (he was so cool. lol), on his surfboard. BUT, just like only Gilligan can use the jet-pack, only Ginger and Mary Ann can use him to get across. :D
BonniesLilCutiePie 08-24-2002, 12:10 AM Ya need to add some scripts Courtney!
JWood201 08-24-2002, 04:00 PM That's a good idea, except that they take forever to write up. I dont think Senior year in high school will be very forgiving to that. lol. Besides, the only ones I'd have would be the same as gilligansisle.com. If I can pull it off later, you know I'll add some. We'll see.....
Thanks.
Steve Carras 09-05-2002, 01:42 AM Courtney , your site mentioned Bob Denver's son in PASS THE VEG-
ATABLES PELASE, but he's in V FOR VITAMINS.

1966-67
Gerald Fried is again music director except for THE PRODUCER, the onyl time MORTON STEVENS got credited simply for music, credited for his usual MUSIC SUPERVISION on MAN WITH A NET< then again from COURT-MARTIAL through HIGH MAN ON THE TOTEM POLE Morton Stevens was listed as "Music", then Gerald Fried's listed again for a couple of more GILLIGAN episodes for composing and conducting (those were THE SECOND GINGER GRANT & THE SECRET OF GILLIGAN'S ISLAND). Morton Stevens was credited again on the next until THE PIGEON, where Gerald Fried is listed for the next few.
A major irony, so indigenous to TV, is the use of the same groups of music sores regardless (and this was true of the black and whites as well) of who got credited for music.
Vocalists:
The Wellingtons for the first season, the Eligibles (uncredited) for the next two seasons. Mary Ann and Professor mentioned in these two.
OTHER CREDITS
Jack Arnold is executvie and main director for this season. There is no executive producer for 1966-67 until THE INVASION, and from the first color episode (1965's GILLIGAN'S MOTHER-IN-LAW until again, the aforementioned THE INVASION, Sherwood Schwartz is simply producer, in addition to creator and theme-song lyricist. Starting with THE INVASION (The James Bond spoof) Robert L.Rosen (formerly the associate producer on this show) takes producer credit, and a teaser before the theme, complete with GI logo, appears. Wilbur D'Arcy, who directed a few epsiodes, was listed as codirector for a long time in both B*W and color, until 1967 when Christopher Seiter, without any directing credits as main director, received a codirector credit. Though not listed, Keester Sweney is the makeup guy. Finally in BANG BANG BANGm the next to last, there is a couple of scrathes in the theme audio at episode's finish.
Finally, THE PIGEON, the previous episode had the footage of the ending normally used, and the castle in THE FRIENDLY PHYSCIAN was from the 1961 Vincent Price filM THE PIT & THE PENDULUM.
JWood201 09-05-2002, 02:34 PM **slaps self** Duh! I always get those two episodes confused...I don't know why.. He was in 'V For Vitamins.' I really did know that. LOL.
Thanks for catching that! I made sure to change that right away.
