Moonlight Lady 08-28-2002, 02:08 PM Well I thought it was Henry Mancini, who did the theme to The Pink Panther and Newhart, I was wrong. George Aliceson Tipton did the Instrumental part of it and the announcer, Rod Roddy, did the voice-over, "These are the Tates..." I looked it up on Internet Movie Database Soap Theme Song (http://us.imdb.com/Name?Tipton,+George+Aliceson) SNLROCKS 09-03-2002, 05:21 PM On the Television's Greatest Hits CD it says for author of the theme is George Tipton.
