This beloved comedy should’ve ended as soon as Topher Grace bailed. But because a hit’s a hit, Fox kept it going one season too long and brought in Seth Meyers’ well-coifed brother Josh in Season 8 to play Laura Prepon’s new love interest.
Suffice it to say, the storyline didn’t go over well, and when Netflix revived the franchise as "That ‘90s Show", Randy’s character received nary a mention.

There were many characters in That 70s Show but not all were loved.
Today, we're here to take a look at the worst by far ... Randy Pearson.
The character meant to replace both Eric Forman and Michael Kelso instead mostly came off as That 70s Show 's own Cousin Oliver.

It is ironic that although the character of Randy Pearson was largely disliked by fans of T7S, Josh Myers, the actor who portrayed the shaggy-haired Randy, was said to be extremely gracious and friendly with the fans who attended the taping of T7S in Los Angeles.
I thought the shows producers and writers made a bad mistake, when it seemed as if they were constantly trying to show the to audience, what a “great” and virtually “perfect” guy, he was. I mean, it was as if they expected the longtime fans of T7S to automatically accept Randy and Donna as a romantic couple after years of seeing Eric and Donna’s romantic relationship grow over the show’s eight seasons.
Thankfully, Donna and Eric reconciled on the final episode and then returned as the parents of a teenaged daughter in the show’s much anticipated sequel.
“Sadly,” poor Randy Pearson went the way of Donna’s younger sister on T7S and older brother Chuck Cunningham on “Happy Days.”
