i remember reading that dick van dyke really disliked the uncle george ep of his classic namesake sitcom well after reading this i watched the ep and while i myself liked the ep i did notice that mr van dyke does have a grumpiness when delivering his lines not at all like the happy go lucky dick van dyke/ rob petrie persona that we always see are there any eps of a show where the actor seemed to dislike the script/ep so much that it showed on camera ?

Not a sitcom, but the Richard Dawson (acts like a dick) debacle on Match Game. The game show made a change where a "star wheel" was utilized instead of allowing winning contestants to pick a celebrity to match their answer. Dawson was picked roughly 8 out 10 times and the show's producers created this to involve more celebrities. Dawson wasn't happy about the change.

Also, Dawson was already starring on the newly created game show Family Feud. Dawson decided to act like an ass and refuse to smile. He became a hell of a grump on Match Game.

Eventually, Dawson was released from his required Match Game appearances.

Personally, I think his antics forever hurt the show.

I cannot stand this episode. I always turn it off.
